Holy Carp!!!

Wow,  was it really May 27 that I said that I would get some pictures up in a “couple of days”?  Uh, wow time flies.

It’s been about 4 months since I last posted.  We have truly been kinda busy, so I will give a brief month-by-month breakdown.

March:

The month after Ruby’s birthday was pretty uneventful.  Ruby did spend two days in the Intensive Care Unit after having a fever seizure.  She has completely recovered, so an extremely happy ending to that story.

The only side effect was a giant green hand.

It also turns out that we didn’t take a lot of pictures in March.

April:

April was a little more eventful.  First there was Easter.

Then the move to Michigan came to complete fruition.  After jumping through about 16 million hoops to get a loan, we closed on a house on April 15th.

1We are, as you can imagine, extremely happy in our house.  We have a very large yard that the girls love to run around in.  We have to do a little bit of work, but nothing too drastic.  And with everyone chipping in, it’s not so bad.

July 19 7Mostly she just slacked off and lounged around.

July 19 8She then rubbed off on the other help and everyone was slacking.

May:

With the weather getting better, we were finally able to enjoy our house a little more.  We were still working hard on getting settled and Addison was finishing up her last week of school, we could relax a little bit.

July 19 10Like eating pudding pops on the back porch…

July 19 11And Ruby getting real pissed about it for some reason.

July 19 12We can take walks along the river and feed the ducks…July 19 13Addison was thrilled that there were ducklings just down the street.

July 19 14

There’s time for snuggles…

July 19 15and kisses.  (Ruby has since learned to kiss with her mouth closed, to the chagrin of all the local boys in the year 2023)

July 19 16Nothing beats a muffin on the porch swing in your pajamas for breakfast.

That brings us up to date through the end of May.  I will stop here for now because June was a very busy month.  Addison’s graduation and birthday, plus we added a new member to the family.  Stay tuned….if anyone still checks this.

The Triumphant Return

So kinda a lot has happened the last 3 months.  But things are starting to wind down so I will get some pictures up here in the next couple of days.

1

I told you there was more to come, sheesh back off.

Little Ruby had her first birthday party a couple of weeks ago.

What an awesome job Mother Nature did of recreating the weather from the day she was born.  That was so special Mother Nature; everyone really appreciated it.

2There was a plethora (plethora: n. an excess; a superabundance) of kids at this party.  From age six to negative 1 month.

There will be a prize to the first person to name all the kids and name the two that were at the party and aren’t pictured.*

I am thinking of writing a letter to Party City Headquarters and letting them know that there is someone at the Lansing store with a very sick mind.

“Dude, do those balloons remind you of something?”

“Hmmmmm, now that you mention it, yes”

While we were singing, Ruby was right on the cusp of starting to cry.  Luckily, the song was over before any major incidents.

7I think she is bummed about about being 1.  She was saying earlier that she is going to lie about her age and just tell everyone she is still 0.

However she decided to drown her sorrows with some cake.  Please notice in the slideshow that she starts very ladylike and dainty and then mess-city.

Just like her mommy, she then needed a bath after eating.

Then it was time for Ruby to dive into the presents.

Its’ probably a little too much, but we got her a car for her birthday.

Ruby had fun at her party.  She seemed to enjoy the attention.

We’re sorry that the weather prevented a lot of people from coming.  You can just mail us the money for your food.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUBY

more to come…

I would walk 500 miles…

Some pretty big developments.

First, as you can see from above, we have a ghost infestation.  We are going to have a exorcism next week.

More importantly, Ms. Big Shot Ruby is now a fully initiated member of “Walking Society”.

It all happened in a matter of a couple of days.  On Monday her preferred mode was crawling, but by Thursday, she was walking pretty much everywhere she went.

She now gets into all sorts of new trouble.

(oh by the way, i fixed the clicky part of the pictures so you should be able to click on them)

She now tries to go up the stairs with her eyes closed.  Ya, pretty cocky.

5

Have you met our son, Rubin?

Addison had a special thing happen too.  She had her first date.  Her date was with the handsomest man in town.

Of course, as soon as we walked in the door, she ditched me to go hang out with her friends. Women; they never change.
